Location for 2010 World Final

I am pleased to officially inform you that at the back end of last year we concluded an agreement with The De Vere hotel group to host the 2010 International Pairs World Final. De Vere is one of the biggest golf hotel groups in the UK and has, what I believe to be, the perfect combination of facilities for our event. The 5* hotel is a converted Castle “Cameron House", it has fantastic on site facilities and will be ideal for the players to relax and enjoy after golf. The hotel was awarded best ‘Resort Hotel’ in Scotland at the 2009 Golf Tourism Awards. The nearest airport is Glasgow International which is only 45 minutes away. The championship golf course we are using is owned by De Vere, is just a few minutes from the hotel and has a tremendous clubhouse with an excellent practice area for the competitors to warm up.

The Championship CourseThis year the World Final will be staged on “The Carrick Championship course”, opened in 2007. De Vere's latest gem, The Carrick on Loch Lomond, has quickly established itself as one of the UK's premier courses. Set in a breathtaking location on the banks of Loch Lomond surrounded by the Trossachs mountain range, the Carrick is one of the most picturesque golf courses in the UK. The championship layout is a stern test and has already welcomed world class competition to its fairways; hosting the Ladies Scottish Open in 2007 and 2008 and The PGA cup in 2009. Designed by the renowned Canadian architect, Doug Carrick, the course meanders between the lowland banks of Loch Lomond on the front nine, before returning into the undulating highland heath for the back nine. There are stunning views of Loch Lomond from almost every corner of the course. All 3 rounds will be played on the same course so 1 practice round and the 36 hole final.

The dates for the 2010 World Final will be the 4th, 5th and 6th October. An outlined itinerary will be distributed before the end of January along with supporters packages and full details of the VIP event package and costs. In addition a selection of accommodation onsite and in the local area will be provided and you will be able to book this directly should you require
Working with the De Vere Hotel group wil ill provide interesting opportunities. To follow is a short text from their website which will highlight this.

“De Vere Hotels, Resorts and Venues has golf at 11 of its properties with 17 golf courses.

De Vere’s relationship with the game became synonymous when the Ryder Cup held at one of their infamous resorts was won by the European team in 1985 ending a 28 year reign by the US team. The De Vere group has continued to host events on its courses with the Ladies Scottish Open in 2008 on the Championship Carrick course at Cameron House. Slaley Hall welcomed the PGA Seniors in both 2008 and 2009, and in September 2009 The Carrick hosted the PGA Cup.

The investment into the game by De Vere has also extended to the creation of The Nike Golf Academy at Oulton Hall & Spa.”

Rather than just being the host venue for the International Pairs World Final, De Vere are looking to proactively work with us. So what does this mean? As you will have read above De Vere hosted the PGA seniors in 2008, 2009 and I can confirm will be doing so again in 2010. This event attracts players like Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam, Bernhard Langer etc. We are going to have access to a team or teams in the Pro am and the opportunity to meet the players. This will be useful as promotional prizes or benefits that we can award sponsors that you have or are looking to attract. In addition there will be preferential rates at the hotels and golf facilities that De Vere own. I will be meeting with the principles from De Vere early in the new year so if you have any thoughts that you would like me to put forward please let me know as soon as possible. The following link will show you the courses

All of the World Final sponsors that supported International Pairs World final in 2009 have renewed there commitment to International Pairs for 2010 and I will be sending out a separate communication regarding this during the week to come.
